My mother used to warn me that when you get older time seems to fly. I hate that she was right. My peonies, lilacs, and iris are already starting to fade. I do have some flowers, however, that are looking like jewels among my beds. They are a sight to behold!
June is here and there are a few things to share with you all that I’m very excited about. First thing is that The Girl with Stars in Her Eyes is in Clean Fiction Magazine’s contest for the best cover art. I’d love it if you could support me by voting for my cover. Just go here to vote. You can vote once a day from June 1st through June 30th.
For those of you who are local, I have two book-signings this month. The first is an Author Fair coming this Saturday, June 4th from 2 to 4 pm in Columbus, Nebraska at the United Methodist Church (2710 14th Street, Columbus, Ne). There will be a whole list of authors there that you don’t want to miss. I’ll have books to sell and I’ll also be signing them as well.
My second author event is a book signing at my local town’s library in Missouri Valley, Iowa (420 E Huron St) from 1 to 2 pm. Again, I’ll have books to sign and I’d love to talk about the whole process of writing and publishing books with anyone who is interested. I’d also be interested if anyone wanted to do a book club to feature one of my books, just let me know.
In between these two events I have a family vacation week scheduled in South Dakota at Big Stone Lake. And through it all I’m hip deep in writing the second book in the Firebird series, The Girl with Fire in Her Veins. There’s more dragons, danger, and loads of trouble headed Tambrynn’s way. Nothing’s ever easy when you’re the only one who can save Anavrin, and all of the other kingdoms, from an evil bent on destroying everything in its path. It’s getting juicy and the stakes have never been bigger. I can’t wait to finish this second book.
I’ll be having a couple of polls go out to my Newsletter subscribers about contents of this second book soon, so if you’re subscribed keep an eye open for those–there’s a chance you can win a Kindle eBook.
So, as Spring zings by, I wish you time to stop and enjoy all of these lovely spring flowers. They don’t last long, so enjoy them while you have them. Until the next time, I pray you are all doing well.
Blessings! Dawn
