Today I was notified that Knee-high Lies is a finalist in The Grace Awards. The Grace Awards honors edgy fiction books with a Christian worldview. It’s a reader nominated award and judging starts in May and the winners will be announced by June 3rd.
It’s an honor to me that someone would take the time to nominate KHL for an award. I’m humbled as well. I wanted to reach out with KHL to other teens who were living a dysfunctional life to let them know they are not alone. Writing KHL took over three years, and editing it another two.
Five years is a long time to wonder if a book will ever reach print. But it finally did, and my message of hope is getting out there and spreading. I can only think of one way this book has been a success and that’s with the grace of God. So the Grace Awards nomination is very special to me.
I’m so thankful to the readers who have sent me notes on KHL. I’ll keep everyone updated on how the contest goes, so stay tuned!
